Ugo Humbert is a home hope and second seed in Marseille. He faces Alexander Bublik or Richard Gasquet and is defending champion after winning the title last year. Third seed is Karen Khachanov. he faces Raphael Collignon or Hamad Medjedovic. In their section is Sebastian Korda also. He faces Otto Virtanen to start then likely Luca Nardi or Daniel Altmaier.
Nuno Borges v Stan Wawrinka is one of the top first round ties. Winner faces Zizou Bergs fresh from his Davis Cup fracas or a qualifier in the second round. Hubert Hurkacz is fourth seed and takes on Quentin Halys or Zhizhen Zhang in the second round.
Lorenzo Sonego, one of the stars of the Australian Open faces Botic van de Zandschulp first round. The winner takes on Lucas Pouille or Benjamin Bonzi in an all French battle.
