Miomir Kecmanovic, Kyle Edmund, Jason Jung and Andreas Seppi reached semifinals at the 2020 New York Open after handling 3-set quarterfinal matches.
The quarterfinal day in New York began with an only match of 2 seeded players. No. 6
Miomir Kecmanovic faced the fourth-seeded Ugo Humbert.

Kyle Edmund was another seeded player in New York who managed to turn the match. He faced an in-form playing

Jason Jung followed the trend set by Edmund and Kecmanovic and added another three-set match. And again he started by losing the first set. Jung faced 2019 champion Reilly Opelka and after an hour and 53 minutes, he managed to win 5-7, 6-4, 6-4.
The day full of turns of the matches was ended by Andreas Seppi. Jordan Thompson who faced an experienced Italian managed to win the first set 7-6. However, Seppi wanted to repeat what all of the other semifinalists managed to do and he succeeded in doing so.
World no. 98 managed to win the second set 6-4 and dominated in third by winning it 6-1 to book his semifinal spot.
