8 players still fighting for 3 spots in the ATP Finals. - De Minaur can pass Rublev with a win tomorrow over Draper. BIG MATCH, - Dimitrov, Tsitsipas, Draper, Rune all need to win tomorrow or they are OUT of the Race.
A big day awaits at the Paris Masters as the ATP Race to Turin could be nearly all but sewn up or it could still be very much up in the air with scenarios galore in taking the final few spots.
Unlike the WTA Finals which saw it be confirmed weeks before mainly due to players tailing off form wise and also Barbora Krejcikova as a Grand Slam champion taking a spot anyway, the ATP Finals offers a different complexion.
With Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz being the sole Grand Slam champions, there is no such rule so it will be fully completed through the rankings and with players losing left right and centre both in Paris and previous weeks, no-one seems to want to qualify.
Novak Djokovic is likely set to be involved. But he is currently on holiday in the Maldives. He will likely know of the circumstances though and despite previously showing no interest in Turin could yet play. Casper Ruud and Andrey Rublev may decide yet to play next week with the latter already requesting a Metz wildcard.
Alex de Minaur could pass him though with a win over Draper. But also the Brit after being nowhere in the run in to Turin could yet qualify. He is in 14th and still in with a shout. Albeit he would likely have to win this week to seal a spot.
Stefanos Tsitsipas, Grigor Dimitrov and Holger Rune as well as Draper who all play today all need to win or they are out and then the picture becomes a bit more clean cut. Also with the Djokovic of it all, the alternate could become very handy in that Rublev, De MInaur or Dimitrov for instance can still benefit if he withdraws.
Tommy Paul though despite winning in Stockholm and having a late push is in fact out of it though and won't qualify and there will likely be more X's as the week continues in Paris. But also a world where multiple players gatecrash the party.
