Predictions
Samuel Gill, Head Editor for TennisUpToDate.com sees a big week for Casper Ruud as he aims to shift his focus onto US Hard Courts.
I think that Casper Ruud will return to his Claysper exploits in the past week. Sure he's not actually been around for a little while due to injury but he loves surfaces like this and in particular ATP 250 clay.
Without an abundance of top names, Zverev and Berrettini chief to that who aren't involved after being entered, it is only really a recently in-form Alexander Bublik that stops him in my mind.
Favourites
*** Casper Ruud
** Alexander Bublik, Pedro Martinez
* Tomas Martin Etcheverry, Stan Wawrinka, Laslo Djere
Entry List
Casper Ruud was a recent champion at the Madrid Open and is a two-time Roland Garros finalist. The World No. 16 will surely see a good opportunity to regain ground in the rankings as he fights to return to the Top 10.
For this reason, it promises to be an open draw. Clay-court specialists like Pedro Martinez (No. 54), Tomas Martin Etcheverry (No. 63), and Laslo Djere (No. 65) are names who have collected titles on the surface. Also noteworthy is Alexander Bublik, who seems to be developing a new relationship with clay courts after reaching his first Grand Slam quarterfinals at none other than the French Open.
