Roger Federer and Stefanos Tsitsipas are set to face off in what is a highly anticipated semi-final at the ATP Finals in London.
Federer will harbour aspirations of making it seven in the event but will know that he will have it tough against the Greek ace and he hopes he can go that one step further this time around.
“I’m happy to stick around,” Federer said. “Hopefully [I can] go a step further than I did last year. I played a good match against Zverev last year, but he was unreal last year, so that was tough.”
Stefanos Tsitsipas is very much a player on the up and he will want to continue that when it comes to later on against Federer and he said after losing out to Rafael Nadal that form his perspective his body feels good and that despite having a long match he believes he can firmly go out there and still produce.
“My body feels well currently. I don't feel pain anywhere. I feel fresh, honestly,”.
“After having a long, difficult match like this, I feel like I can go out and play tomorrow the same way. So I don't have any problem with that.”
