Roger Federer was announced to be making his return at the
Laver Cup after being out injured since last year's Wimbledon as the 41-year-old looks to take the final steps in his career but he is unlikely to play in London according to reports in Switzerland.
Sold prior to the tournament as the return of the Big Four all together with Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray all signed up - ticket prices have matched it accordingly with the Swiss legend himself one of the organisers of the tournament.
But reports as per
tagesanzeiger.ch say that Federer has water in his knee and despite him practicing, he couldn't do it as intensive as he wanted to and as a result could play a lighter Laver Cup and then has four weeks to get ready for the Swiss Indoors in Basel which he is signed up for.
Having a light Laver Cup though may not be possible due to having to play at least one singles and one doubles as per the rules but an announcement will likely be forthcoming before the tournament kicks off at the end of September.
