Lorenzo Musetti is going on strong at Roland Garros once again proving to be one of the better young players when it comes to playing on the red dirt.
He beat Novak Djokovic earlier this year in Monte-Carlo proving himself once more. It comes two years after he led Djokovic 2-0 at Roland Garros only to retire in the 5th set of the match. The Italian spoke about his win in the second round of Roland Garros calling the evening a rather positive one:
"It was a very positive evening, it was a game that may seem simple from the outside but it saw me play all the points 100% and this is the fact that makes me most proud, I'm working on this very. In general, sometimes he can give you too much confidence and perhaps it never hurts, the next match will be difficult and will bring you new difficulties.
Up next for him is Cam Norrie:
"Definitely better to get some energy and confidence in this match and now head to the next match against Norrie. We've only faced each other once in Barcelona and I got the better of it, but now surely he'll want to take his revenge and I'll have to be careful. It's going to be a best-of-five match here, it's going to be a long and physical match and we'll see who comes through."
The Italian has also been compared to Roger Federer more than once and it's something he's glad about. The Swiss maestro was his idol growing up:
"Federer was my idol, Kuerten is one of my coach's idols, they are two one-handed backhand legends and I'm really happy to be matched with them."
