Serena Williams last played at Wimbledon in 2019 when she lost in the final to Simona Halep but she is glad to be back.
Serena Williams is back to the place where she created some magical and historic moments and sitting down with the media she spoke about being back. Asked how does it feel to be back she was short and sweet saying:
"Feels different but still very special. I don't know. It's hard to describe. Being here on grass makes it so different, so unique. So much history here as well"
Serena was then asked about reports of Novak Djokovic reaching out to her about the PTPA which she confirmed saying:
"Yeah, we spoke about it. Haven't had a ton of time to gather my thoughts. He is trying to figure out what he's doing. Everyone's on a different path."
She was then asked whether she feels the draw is more open with Osaka and Halep pulling out to which she replied:
"I think the women's draw is so deep regardless of who plays so you gotta have your game on. There are no walkthrough matches anymore"
Asked about her longevity in the sport she explained that many things contribute to that including:
"Technology. Equipment all of it. The way we play, the way we recover."
Williams was also asked about her decision not to play the Olympics but she once again did not want to talk about the reasons why she chose not to attend. She did say that missing them is hard but she is not going to think about it too much.
