Following his victory at the 2025 Open Occitanie in Montpellier last weekend, Felix Auger-Aliassime has added another notch to his already impressive resume.
The Canadian survived a three-set thriller against American Aleksandar Kovacevic in Sunday's final, requiring a tiebreak in the final set to secure the victory. Known for his prowess on indoor hard courts, Auger-Aliassime won his seventh overall ATP title, with six coming on his preferred surface.
The former World No.6 has had a strong start to the 2025 season, with two titles to his name after prevailing in Adelaide in January. With seven titles to his name, Auger-Aliassime has leapfrogged Argentine Sebastian Baez on the list of players born in 2000 or later who have won titles on the ATP Tour. Baez has won six ATP titles, and Auger-Aliassime, who was born in 2000, now has seven titles on his resume.
This impressive achievement puts the Canadian at number 3 on the list of players born in the year 2000 or later who have won a title on tour. Auger-Aliassime still has a ways to go if he intends on catching up with the two men at the top. World No.1 Jannik Sinner currently leads the list with 19 ATP titles and counting, whereas reigning Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz sits at second place with 16 ATP titles.
Auger-Aliassime will look to add to his title tally this week as he competes at the ABN AMRO Open. The ATP 500 hard court event is one of the few indoor hard court events on tour, with the Canadian being a former champion. He defeated Greek star Stefanos Tsitsipas in 2022, winning his first ATP title in the process.
