This was a very solid performance from
Felix Auger-Aliassime who did need three sets to win 6-7(3) 6-4 6-4 but did not face a single break point.
Auger-Aliassime has been playing some spectacular tennis lately and he won his 9th consecutive match to move on in Basel. The Canadian faced an inspired native player Huesler who is a really strong server and he demonstrated that in this match by allowing very little to Felix overall.
The first set saw no breaks of serve ending in a tiebreak, one that Huesler played as well as you can really play it. 7-3 was the score but Auger-Aliassime did not panic and broke Huesler in the first game of the second set for a 2-0 lead. He kept that lead throughout the second set thanks to a majestic serving performance.
It continued in the final set as well as as neither player really found a way to create some break chances. Felix was once again too good on his own serve while Huesler faltered towards the end giving a chance to Felix who took it.
Only six points dropped behind the first serve for Auger-Aliassime (50/56) and no break points allowed. He's confidently matching towards Turin.
