Grigor Dimitrov will face
Jannik Sinner in the final of the 2024
Miami Open after a see saw battle which saw him defeat
Alexander Zverev 6-4, 6-7, 6-4 to end a poor run against the German previously and it also heralded a return to the top 10.
This is significant as Dimitrov will return for the first time in 65 months which is five and a half years and it was also significant for the Bulgarian who said it is the cherry on the cake and it comes down to all his hard work and belief over the years.
βWhatever I say doesnβt do it justice. For me, I fight my own battles now. I run my own race. All that comes with the work we all put in as a team. Iβm at a very different path in my life and my career. A lot was done. A lot of work. A lot of everything behind it. So I donβt want to go too far back. Thereβs no reason for it," said Dimitrov.
"I kept on believing. I kept on thriving. I kept on having faith in myself. When I didnβt believe in myself enough, all the team around me was constantly pushing me in the right direction. I had very good discipline. My family was by my side and all the close friends. Itβs all love [at] the end of the day. This is just a cherry on the cake."
