Match-fixing in tennis has been a hot topic as of late with recent reports of two top 100 players possibly involved in the illegal activity.
While neither Karatsev nor Basilashvili have been proven guilty, one person did. It's Max Wenders, former coach of Demi Schuurs who also dated former world number four Sofia Kenin. The Dutch tennis coach was banned from tennis for 12 years due to his involvement in match-fixing.
The ITIA said in a statement that Wenders admitted to “multiple match-fixing charges” and also admitted to destroying evidence and failing to report a corrupt approach.
