A couple of Polish players met up in round one of the
Warsaw Open as the younger Swiatek proved better 6-1 6-2.
Swiatek finally got the chance to play in front of native fans, at home in Poland, something she loves doing. She also returned to clay where she has been so dominant in the past year and won. As expected, Swiatek showed that there is no rust in her game as she cruised against Frech.
The Wimbledon loss was a shock one for the fans but it seems like it didn't negatively impact the Polish player at all. She jumped out to an early lead in this one and never looked back. Dominating from the baseline, Swiatek was relentless both on serve and return. The opening set finished with 6-1 for her and she smashed Frech in the 2nd one as well 6-2.
It was not a quick match as Frech put up a good fight in the 2nd set but Swiatek was still able to easily win the match.
