Forte Village Sardegna Open 2020 Wednesday's Schedule of Play with Fognini, Lajovic in action

Finally, the top two seeded player will join the action at the 2020 Forte Village Sardegna Open on Wednesday as the second-round matches will take place.

However, before the second round begins, there will be still two first-round matches to complete the second-round line-up. First, Salvatore Caruso will take on Yannick Hanfmann and then, Frances Tiafoe will play against Corentin Moutet for the place in the 2nd round against Albert Ramos.

Successful players from the first round, Federico Delbonis and Pablo Andujar will battle for the place in quarterfinals in Italy as well as the Italian Lorenzo Sonego against Jiri Vesely.

Then, it will be the top two seeded players in the action. The first-seeded Fabio Fognini will take on Roberto Carballes Baena on the home soil. The Italian lost 4 out of the last 5 matches on the clay, while his opponent managed to defeat Denis Shapovalov at the 2020 Roland Garros before he needed to retire from the match against Grigor Dimitrov.

The last match of the day will be an all-Serbian matchup between Dusan Lajovic and Laslo Djere. The two met already three times with their first two meetings dating back to 2015. Their most recent match happened in 2019 in Madrid with Djere winning in two sets.
