Serbian tennis star
Novak Djokovic met with fellow countryman
and famous basketball player Nikola Jokic.
In a video that appeared on social media platform X — previously
known as Twitter — the two met before the match between the Denver Nuggets and
the Los Angeles Lakers at the crypto.com Arena on Saturday.
Djokovic is currently visiting the USA where he is set to
take part in the ATP 1000 event in the
Indian Wells which is set to begin from
March 06.
Jokic was instrumental for the Nuggets as he registered 35
points to go with 10 rebounds and seven rebounds as his side secured an important
win with a score of 124-114.
While Jokic remains one of the most famous players in the NBA,
Djokovic is regarded as the greatest player in the history of men’s tennis in
the singles category in the Open era, having won as many as 24 Grand Slam
titles in his career.
The 36-year-old will be hoping that some time off from tennis
will help him recover from a setback in the early phase of the 2024 season
where he was knocked out of the Australian Open after losing to Italy’s Jannik
Sinner with a score of 6-1, 6-2, 6-7, 6-3.
