Eurosport tennis analyst Alex Corretja gave his thoughts on the surprise pairing of
Andy Murray and Ivan Lendl for what the Spaniard called 'the last dance'.
Andy Murray surprised many when he announced that he and Ivan Lendl will work once more together after having worked twice in the past before. Speaking to Eurosport, tennis analyst Alex Corretja gave his thoughts on the surprise pairing:
"First reaction was, he still believes that he can be a champion. Otherwise, you don't go back to your ex-coach with whom you achieved the most important tournaments of your career. I was very pleased. I was very happy and I was very surprised."
Speaking further on the matter, Corretja added:
"I think they believe in each other. Andy goes back to his ex-coach, he is the one that gave me everything I know and he is the one that took everything I had. Of course, he wants to go there because he feels Ivan gets the best out of his tennis. Ivan, probably talking to Andy, still believes that he still has something to achieve."
Corretja overall struck a very positive talk believing the partnership to be a very good one and it could turn to something of a 'Last dance' for Andy Murray with a big title to properly say goodbye to tennis.
