Rising American star Amanda Anisimova won the Eisenhower Cup after beating Maria Sakkari in the final 10-7.
The Eisenhower Cup - a TieBreak Tens event that took place at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Tuesday night - featured some of the world's top players. Anisimova claimed wins over three quality players as she destroyed four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka 10-3 in her first match. In the semifinal, Anisimova saw off 2021 Indian Wells Masters champion Paula Badosa 10-6.
After beating Osaka and Badosa, Anisimova also delivered a good performance against Sakkari 10-7 and ended up winning it all.After the event, Anisimova said:
“Personally I don’t like playing very long so this was perfect for me."
