Dominic Thiem is currently undergoing recovery from the wrist detachment he suffered back at the Mallorca Open ahead of Wimbledon. The Australian has not been able to play tennis since then but has slowly progressed nicely. He posted several videos on Instagram showing him undergoing physical training.
Thiem has not yet been seen holding a racquet in his right hand where he sustained the injury suggesting the action might not be safe for him to perform yet. According to Kronen Zeitung, Thiem's physio Alex Stober was quoted as saying:
“He’s getting better every day but you can’t expect miracles so quickly.”
The statement is a very vague one that did not offer much but the tone of it did not seem too positive. Stober did not offer anything else but reports from Austria suggests Thiem is still deciding whether to participate at the US Open which is now four weeks away. He already pulled out of Cincinnati and Toronto.
