Projected WTA Rankings: Naomi Osaka to finish 2021 8th, Ashleigh Barty to finish 1st at year-end

Projections are never to be taken seriously as in life and tennis anything can happen at any time but statistical projections offer an insight into how a career of tennis players is evolving. Top form is something sustainable while struggles are also sustainable which means tennis players usually tend to have an up or down year.

According to projection done which took into account, form and the number of points players defended at upcoming events Naomi Osaka is set to be a big loser by year-end. The Japanese player is projected to finish the year 8th which is six spots below her current ranking. Barbora Krejcikova is the big gainer with the Czech player projected to finish 3rd (currently 11th).

Several other notable players are set to make high jumps and they are Maria Sakkari who is projected to finish 9th (from 19), Pavlyuchenkova 8th (from 18), Jabeur 11th (from 22), Gauff 14th (from 24) and Badosa 16(from 29).
