"Going to be special this year" - Ruud on playing with Federer, Murray, Nadal and Djokovic at Laver Cup

Casper Ruud is once again part of Team Europe for this year's Laver Cup and he's looking forward to playing with the big four.

Ruud made his Laver debut last year and he actually played the first match of the event against Reilly Opelka in Boston. It was a special thing for Ruud because he won the match comfortably giving Europe their first points but also because of something that happened during the match:

"I was playing the first match of the whole Laver Cup against Opelka. It was the first time they showed Roger on the big screen in TD Garden in Boston, and the whole crowd erupted like I never heard before, so I can only imagine what it will be like when he’s on the team and when he will enter the court"

This year will be even more special for him because he will play with four of the most important players that he watched growing up. Murray, Djokovic, Federer and Nadal were followed by Ruud as he was growing up and now he'll play with them:

“It’s going to be so special this year, having the biggest four tennis players in my childhood. It’s going to be an honour. Probably going to be a bit nervous when I’m out there playing in front of them, but I’ll do my best and I’m very happy to be able to represent Europe for this year’s Laver Cup in front of a crowd full of cheerful fans, and a European bench of legends.”
