As a result they will now face off against Germany who defeated Chile also earlier today 2-1. Kyle Edmund earlier stepped up in Andy Murray's absence; to give Britain the first point after a 6-3, 6-3 win over Kukushkin.

Serbia also defeated France 2-1 which with them already being through meant that Argentina qualify as one of the two best second-placed teams, along with Russia to the Quarter-Finals, they start later with Australia v Canada.
