"He is not thinking about retiring": Toni Nadal says nephew Rafael Nadal will play at Roland Garros with Rome hints

Uncle Toni Nadal has confirmed that Rafael Nadal will play at the 2023 Roland Garros as well as that his nephew is not considering or even thinking about retirement.

Nadal fans can finally breathe easily as Nadal will play at the 2023 Roland Garros. The news was confirmed by his uncle Toni who has been the person to provide most of the updates regarding Nadal and his status recently. Speaking to Radio Marca, Toni confirmed that Nadal would have loved to be playing right now but it will have to wait for Paris:

“He would like to be competing now, but there is little left for that to happen. He is going to play in Paris, although how he trains in the coming weeks and what he can do in Rome will be important to measure his aspirations there."

Toni also confirmed that Nadal is not thinking about retirement or anything like that despite this long recovery due to the hip injury:

“He is not thinking about retiring, he just wants to recover well and continue competing because he is passionate about this sport."
