Djokovic will lose his world No. 1 ranking next week as Carlos Alcaraz will again climb to the top. Djokovic is defending his title at the 2022 Rome Open, but even if he wins the title again, he won't gain any points, and Alcaraz will reclaim the top spot.

“He will deservedly be #1 after this event.. He is the player to beat on this surface,” ‘Nole’ said.
The 35-year-old tennis player added that Alcaraz is the favorite for Roland Garros, although it also depends on the participation of the most successful player Rafael Nadal, who has not yet confirmed his participation in France, where he has lifted the trophy 14 times.
“It also depends on if Rafa Nadal will be at Roland Garros, but Alcaraz is certainly 1 of the favorites without any doubt.”
Djokovic successfully made his debut at the Rome Open against Argentine Tomas Etcheverry and advanced to the third round, where he will face Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, against whom he has a record of 10-1 in the H2H.
