"He’s obviously the biggest star we have in Norway" - Casper Ruud on Erling Haaland

Casper Ruud is very popular in Norway but he admits that football superstar Erling Haaland is the most popular athlete in the country.

Football is the biggest sport in Norway and it's not a surprise that one of the best footballers in the world is very popular in Norway. When you add the fact that he's Norwegian is not hard to understand why Erling Haaland is the biggest tart in Norway.

Ruud conceded that happily when asked about it:

“He’s obviously the biggest star we have in Norway for the moment. He’ll probably continue to be so for many more years. I’m just focused on my career. I hope I can, of course, win more tournaments in my career. I want to represent Norway in a good way and put Norwegian tennis a little bit more on the map than it’s been the last years.”

Ruud also admitted that he expects to be nervous despite already playing in a US Open final. He understands that it's normal and he knows that eventually, he'll settle.
