Tennis star
Holger Rune will have extra motivation at this year's
Indian Wells tournament, as the Dane has declared he will make a charitable donation for every ace he hits at the ATP Masters 1000 event.
The Indian Wells tournament kicks off on Wednesday, March 6 and Rune, being the seventh seed, has a first round bye. However, the 20-year old will have his work cut out for him in the second round, as he is set to face either former World No.3 Milos Raonic or 22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal.
Proceeds will help underserved children in Denmark
Rune announced he will be making a donation of 2,500 Danish Krone, which equates to about $364, for every ace he hits to Borns Vilkar, a charitable organization that helps vulnerable children in his home country of Denmark.
"All children have the right to a safe childhood and an adult to talk to," reflected the young star. "I myself am very aware of the privileged childhood I have had, and how important it has been to my life and the opportunities I have today. Unfortunately, not everyone is aware of this, and it always makes an incredibly big impression on me when I hear about children who are exposed to failure."
