Denmark’s tennis star
Holger Rune has stated that ‘it feels
amazing’ after winning the best supporting actor award in mock ATP Golden
Racket awards.
The 20-year-old played the role of Lio Riley in a video that
was posted by the ATP Tour on the social media platform X — previously known as
Twitter.
The awards were decided through the users' vote and Rune, in
a post on his account on X — thanked everyone who voted for him. "Thanks
to everyone voting for me and now match time," he wrote.
Earlier, while accepting the award, Rune stated that it ‘felt
amazing’ to receive the award. "Wow, thank you so much,” he said. “Thank
you, fans. First of all, I have to thank all the amazing fans for giving me
this beautiful trophy and voting me. It feels amazing, I did my best. I tried
to do it in the best possible way and great reward. Thank you guys.”
Rune is currently taking part in the
Indian Wells where he
has already booked his place in the third round after being awarded a walkover
against Canada’s Milos Raonic who withdrew from the competition because of a
calf strain. He is now set to face Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti in the round 32 clash
on Monday.
