Milos Raonic's run of having to withdraw from tournaments continues with the Canadian who had his calf heavily strapped in seeing off Sumit Nagal deciding against playing his second round against Holger Rune at
Indian Wells this evening.
Raonic was due to facer Rune after taking down the top Indian star after he replaced Rafael Nadal in the line-up who himself wasn't in a fit state to play Indian Wells much to the behest of the fans and also the tournament organisers who had to issue refunds.
The last tournament Raonic played he had to give up after three matches in facing Jannik Sinner in the Quarter-Finals in Rotterdam. Locked at 1-1 in the second set, his body gave up on itself. He also handed Alex de Minaur a walkover due to injury to start the year at the Australian Open.
The 33-year-old Canadian who was formerly a Wimbledon finalist and former World Number Three saw his career initially curtailed back in 2021 due to injury before he came back in 2023 for the grass season and played on from there. But it has been blighted by injuries amid the good displays at times.
