Tennis star
Jack Draper is set to face off against
Holger Rune at the
Ultimate Tennis Showdown this week, and the Brit has high praise for Rune's coaching team, which includes former World No.1
Boris Becker.
The Ultimate Tennis Showdown Grand Final will take place in London, kicking off on Friday and running till Sunday. Draper will get to play in front of his home crowd, in an event that features a number of top players including Rune, Gael Monfils and Alexander Bublik.
Rune's game has improved under Becker's tutelage, says Draper
Draper is set to battle Rune in a group stage encounter, and the British star spoke about his admiration for how Becker has helped Rune grow as a player.
"In all honesty, I have heard a lot about Boris," said Draper. "He was an unbelievable player. He has coached Djokovic and has been around the circuit for a long time. He is an amazing coach and I’m sure he will work very well with Rune. It seemed towards the end of this year he had already made good improvements and was playing well again. Hopefully when I play Rune, he has not improved too much again!"
When asked if he would ever want to work with Becker, Draper responded by stating he was happy with his current coach.
"At the moment I am very content with my coach, James Trotman," said Draper. "We will see if the future [if I will be interested] but I definitely have a lot of respect for Boris and it will good to see him around on the ATP Tour."
