German tennis star
Jan-Lennard Struff has won the ATP Comeback
Player of the Year award. The 33-year-old made a stunning jump from 167 to 21
in the ATP Ranking. Therefore, he won the ATP Comeback Player of the Year
accolade.
Struff had most of his success on the hard court where he ended
up winning 16 out of 25 matches. Overall, the Warstein-born ended up winning 24
matches in 45 outings.
However, despite those numbers, Struff did not have a great
outing while playing at the Grand Slams. He played in the main round of two major
events and on both occasions, he was knocked out after losing in the first
round.
Interestingly, Struff just never had a great time while playing
at the Grand Slams. His best outing in any major competition came in the French
Open where on two occasions, his journey lasted till the fourth round. Therefore, it is no surprise that the current world number 25
has a win percentage of just 37 % at the Grand Slams.
Struff has only won four singles ATP titles in his career
and just one since 2017. Therefore, his fans will be hoping that after being recognized
for his impressive performances in the recent past, the 33-year-old will finally showcase his talent at the highest level next year.
