Hubert Hurkacz played his best match yet at the
Moselle Open defeating
Pablo Carreno Busta 7-6(2) 6-3.
When Hubert Hurkacz plays his best he is almost unbeatable amd today was that case. The Polish player did not start off too well as he was a bit shaky on serve allowing himself to get broken early 1-3.
He raised his level considerably after that battling back to make it 4-4. His serve was tremendous and he barey dropped a point after that. Carreno had trouble reading his serve and that cost him in the tiebreak.
He won it fairly easily 7-2 after some stellar play in key moments. He continued playing well breaking Carreno early in the 2nd but he failed to hold on to it. After that both settled into a nice rhytm and neither had chances to break.
At 3-3 Hurkacz finally found a breakthrough agaim taking a 4-3 lead. Unlike earlier in the set Hurkacz was able to hold his serve for a 5-3 lead. He held on to win his 4th career trophy in 4 attempts as well as his 3rd in 2021.
