Roger Federer travelled to Boston for the
Laver Cup in a conversation with Jim Courier he shared some updates.
Nobody expected Roger Federer to turn up in Boston for the Laver Cup but the Swiss ace made the surprise trip to the shock of everybody. Players were happy to see him and fans as well giving him a very warm welcome. In a talk with Jim Courier he said:
"I wasn't sure if I was going to make it. We kept it nice and quiet. The reception I've received was upbeat. And they all wish me the best. It's been wonderful."
Courier then asked Federer about an update with his knee and he said:
"It was a tough process to take the decision. I was really unhappy with things went at Wimbledon. I was nowhere near where I wanted to be. I tried my best. Now I gotta take it to step by step. I have to first walk properly, run properly, take side steps properly."
He continued:
"It's going to take me a few more months at least. I gotta take my time. I don't want to rush it this time. But I'm in a really good place. I am happy and the worst is behind me."
Federer then shared his thought on the Laver Cup given that this is the first time neither of the top 3 is playing this year:
"Boston is a great city. The crowd has been amazing. We really build up something very special with Toni over the last few years. Thankfully we have been able to have a full crowd.
