Tennis pro Reilly Opelka in known for voicing his opinions on social media, and the American got into a war or words with a fan that somehow included Elon Musk's acquisition of Twitter.
It all started when tennis journalist Ben Rothenberg took a shot at Novak Djokovic, making reference to the Serbian's recklessness when launching his racket in anger and almost hitting people. Opelka took exception to this, responding with the statement that Rothenberg and other media members suffered no consequences for being biased or spreading misinformation.
This led to a fan chiming in, saying that people (including Opelka) were excited about Elon Musk acquiring Twitter so that everyone could say whatever they want, yet they want to get Rothenberg's credentials cancelled for telling the truth.
To this, Opelka gave a tongue-in-cheek reply, saying "Not true at all, I am distraught that Elon bought Twitter, as I stand strongly against free speech. I am 100% pro censorship."
