Daniil Medvedev finally had a notch on his Head to Head record added the way of Jannik Sinner after previously being 6-0 up.
Medvedev lost out in the final of the
China Open in Beijing and as ever, the post match speech was the gift that kept giving for the Russian as he called it third time lucky.
“I’d like to congratulate Jannik & his team. 3rd time lucky. 3rd final this year between us. You managed to win it. Great match. You’re an amazing player, having an amazing season. Hopefully we can have many more finals in tournaments like this & try to fight for more," said Medvedev.
He also tried to thank his team during the interview but couldn't do so with the flags in the way of the ceremony. “I cannot see my team.”
Jannik Sinner also tried to Medvedev's team and had the same issue: “Obviously your team.. I cannot see them also.”
