Jack Draper has been having a nightmare season dealing with multiple injuries since the start of the year and he retired from another match with the latest coming at Roland Garros.
Draper has been playing very good tennis in the few matches that he actually played this year. The Brit is a rising star with an abundance of talent but also a seemingly fragile body. He's been mostly injured this year pulling out of multiple events due to several injuries and it happened again. The latest one happened at Roland Garros which is a shame as he played rather well in Lyon recently.

Refusal to retire

It was evident pretty early on that Draper was dealing with an issue as he was in constant communication with his box. They urged him to retire but microphones on the court picked up Draper refusing to retire from yet another match:
"I'm not retiring from another match, I don't want to do this. Even if I have to play three sets underarm [serving], I don't care, I just want to play."
Ultimately Draper did retire after losing the opening set and losing one game in the second set. It was a disappointing end for the player as he vented after the match.

'Mentally Destroyed'

Speaking after the match, Draper admitted that this latest retirement is a huge blow for him describing himself as mentally destroyed:
"I hate being the guy who is injured a lot. I feel a bit mentally destroyed."
The good news is taht his Wimbledon participation is not in question. Missing that would have been a big issue for Draper who was excellent on grass last year.

Jack Draper says he has a problem with a tendon in his upper arm but he doesn't think it will seriously threaten his Wimbledon chances. Very downbeat about another retirement though. "I hate being the guy who is injured a lot. I feel a bit mentally destroyed." #RolandGarros
