Bulgaria’s tennis star
Grigor Dimitrov believes that he has
nothing to prove to anyone.
The 32-year-old is currently taking part in the Shanghai
Masters where he has already booked his place in the round of 32 after beating
Australia’s Aleksandar Vukic in straight sets with a score of 6-4, 6-3.
Dimitrov was recently quoted in a report where he stated
that he believes it is his time to shine on the court.
"Yeah, I mean, as I said that, I think even in the past
couple of years, in a way I really have, in a way, nothing to prove to anybody
other than myself. I think this is, I feel like this is my time, the time for
me," he said.
"Like, I'm very grateful to my family, to my close
friends, to all my sponsors. Everyone that has been in my team and still are
still around. I'm very thankful and I feel like whatever I have achieved is
also because of them.”
Dimitrov is set to face off against Russia’s Karen Khachanov
in the round of 32 tie in the ATP 1000 event on Monday.
Both players have faced off twice at the highest level where
the Haskovo-born has a clear edge as he emerged victorious on both occasions.
