Former Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios may not be participating in the singles event at this year's Wimbledon Championships, but the Aussie star has not ruled out competing at a different avenue, the legends doubles event.
Kyrgios has been out of action since October 2022 due to injury. The former World No.13 has been working hard to make a comeback to the ATP Tour, but is yet to announce his official return.
Despite still being sidelined, Kyrgios has found time to attend SW 19 as a pundit for BBC. The Australian star currently provides analysis alongside former British No.1 Tim Henman. The British star reached a career-high ranking of World No.4, making the semifinals of Wimbledon four times in five years between 1998 and 2002.
When asked how he felt watching a Wimbledon match from the sidelines, Kyrgios admitted it felt different but teased a possible legends doubles appearance with colleague Henman somewhere down the line.
"Whether it’s entertaining or causing controversial moments I do miss it a lot," said Kyrgios. "Obviously I have been working extremely hard to get back on court and I am very close at the moment.
"To sit in a box and watch a full match was hard but I enjoyed it, I know how special this court is, the crowd, it’s the best event in the world and I can’t wait to be back here and hopefully who knows? I might play some legends doubles with Tim one day."
