Daniil Medvedev had a good run at Roland Garros where he lost to finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas but the Russian is looking ahead to the grass season.
Many did not expect great things from Daniil Medvedev in Paris but the Russian was able to play some great tennis before losing to finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas. After the matches, he had one of his famous rants but now he looks ahead to the grass-court season. Speaking ahead of his
NOVENTI OPEN opener he said:
"We are gonna see this year. Normally I like grass. Before it was my favourite surface before I've done some amazing things on hard courts. Now it's hard courts."
Medvedev also spoke about the upsets that tend to happen on grass especially against big servers:
"Sometimes you can play well on grass and still lose. You can lose in a tiebreaker against some who does serve & volley well. But I enjoy playing on grass, it's green and it's calm I would say."
He then spoke about his approach to grass:
"The most important thing on grass is concentration, especially on your serve. Your serve is key, sometimes you can lose a break and lose the set. When you have this mindset it's gonna be much easier to be on the return also."
Asked about the Halle stadium and courts ahead of his debut at the venue he said:
"It's amazing. I really like it here and let's see how I do."
