Daniil Medvedev to CGTN: "I definitely miss the Chinese fans. They are so nice to everybody. Of course, they like Roger Federer the most, we need to say it." 😅
Daniil Medvedev is missing Chinese fans as the Russian is not going to play in China this year once again due to the pandemic.
There won't be any tennis in China for the 2nd year in a row and Daniil Medvedev is not thrilled by it. The Russian has enjoyed some solid success on the Asian continent and he generally enjoys playing in front of Chinese fans. He admitted to it recently by saying:
"I definitely miss the Chinese fans. They are so nice to everybody."
Medvedev also joked about the fact that according to him they like Federer the most:
"Of course, they like Roger Federer the most, we need to say it."
It's an interesting take by Medvedev but Roger Federer is so universally popular around the world that it would be pretty hard to find a corner on the Earth where Federer was not the most popular player. Either way, it's a shame that there won't be any tennis event in China this year but hopefully, we will be back in 2022.
