Diego Schwartzman made headlines for the wrong reason yesterday losing to a player playing his first official match but his comments about the big 3 are another interesting tidbit.
Many players have been getting questions about the big 3 after Novak Djokovic lost in the US Open final as fans are sensing that their time might be coming to an end. The Argentinian player explained his view of the matter saying that it's logical that their reign would come to an end:
“It could be and it is logical that it will happen (end of the dominance of Djokovic, Federer and Nadal). Perhaps the illogical thing was that every year we asked ourselves how long they were going to keep on winning everything.”
Schwartzman also noted the increase in injuries especially to Rafa nad Roger as a factor:
“Perhaps this year and a half both Rafa and Roger had some injuries. Djokovic continues at a very high level and everyone continues being legends who do it in the best way and if they are physically well they are still the best.”
