Jessica Pegula admitted after her 2nd round win over Aliaksandra Sasnovich that she likes to look at draws of events she plays in because it's like a game to her.
There is somewhat of an unwritten rule that tennis players generally don't look at their draw and who they might play in the latter stages of the event should they make it there but Pegula doesn't follow it. Speaking after her 2nd round win in Australia, Pegula addmited she likes to look at the draws:
"I don't know why it's like this thing in tennis not to look at your draw. I don't know how you don't see who you're gonna play. I'm going to see on Twitter or on Instagram or anywhere, or someone is going to come up to me and say something, so I don't know why I'm trying to like act like it's such a superstitious thing."
She expanded:
"Not just my section. I like looking at it as a whole. I think it's fun. I think it becomes like a game, kind of like a problem-solving game."
