American tennis star Tommy Paul left the Paris Olympic Games with a bronze medal in men's doubles, and later spoke on how he remained motivated in his quest to proudly represent his home nation.
Teaming with compatriot Taylor Fritz, the pair played some exceptional tennis to reach the semifinals of the Olympics. They were responsible for retiring three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray, who partnered with Dan Evans in his final professional tennis event. After defeating the British duo, Paul and Fritz fell in the semifinals but overcame Czech duo Tomas Machac and Adam Pavlasek to win the bronze medal.

Paul kept his eyes on the prize in Paris

The World No.12 was competing in his second Olympics, after losing in the opening round in the 2021 Tokyo Games. During an interview at the ongoing Canadian Open, Paul spoke on his Olympic experience, highlighting how he set his sights on winning a medal in either the singles or doubles events.
"I went in with the approach of 'I've had my Olympic experience,'" said Paul. "I came in to Tokyo to be an Olympian and this time I wanted to bring a medal to the States. Luckily me and Fritz played some awesome doubles and we were able to bounce back after the semifinal loss and bring something back to the United States."
