Novak Djokovic is currently away from tennis resting with his family in his native Serbian and he spoke with a local newspaper explaining his plans for the rest of the 2021 season.
Days before the Indian Wells Masters, Djokovic announced on his social media that he will not be attending the 2021 BNP Paribas Open. Djokovic expressed regret for not showing up for fans in the desert but the decision was a sensible one as he takes time away after his US Open loss in the final. The trip over the Atlantic Ocean might have also been a factor in the decision.
Either way, Djokovic will be out of action for some time now with the Serbian updating fans with his schedule in an interview with local Serbian Newspapers. Talking to Blic Djokovic confirmed that his plans include 3 events. The first one is the Paris Masters which Djokovic traditionally plays with great success winning it several times.
The 2nd one will be the ATP Finals held in Turin this year. It will be the first time the event is held in Turin and Djokovic would not want to miss it. His results at the event in the past few years have been lacklustre but the Serbian traditionally shows up. The final event will be the Davis Cup where he will represent Serbia in the Finals.
