Alexandre Müller jokingly asked whether the ATP Tour can stop drug testing him due to how frequently he loses after he was defeated in the second round of the
Barcelona Open. The World No.110 lost out to Casper Ruud on Wednesday and took to social media to make a point amid constant testing from officials.
Muller lost for the eighth time this season in a 6-3, 6-4 defeat to Ruud at the Barcelona Open and he has still yet to win more than two matches in an ATP main draw in his career. As a result of this lack of progress, he doesn't see it fitting that he has to be drug tested every week especially given in his mind if he was doping he wouldn't be losing so frequently. It wasn't confirmed whether he had to be tested after he lost to Ruud though in Barcelona. His best result this season was a Quarter-Final run at the ATP tournament in Auckland losing to Taro Daniel. He also won first rounds in Indian Wells and Barcelona, but has not gone any further.
"Hello @atptour , I don't know if you know me but I would like the anti-doping controls every week to stop," the 27-year-old tweeted. "I wouldn't lose in the first or second round every week if I was doped thank you so much."
