"I wouldn't shed too much light on what happened until some decisions are made": Azarenka remains cryptic on Madrid Open doubles fiasco

Victoria Azarenka is not keen to talk about the Madrid Open doubles fiasco when she and Haddad Maia were denied a chance to speak during the trophy ceremony.

It was a pretty big controversy because the doubles finals players were denied a chance to speak during the ceremony. It's a customer for players to speak and the WTA doubles final was the only final that didn't feature players addressing the crowd which garnered a lot of criticism. Azarenka though, is still not willing to speak too much on it:

"I wouldn't shed too much light on what happened until some decisions are made but I will tell you one thing. We found out on the court right away after the match that there were going to be no speeches."

She added:

"One of the communications guys, he felt so bad. I feel so bad for him. I felt like he was going to cry. I dont want to blame him because I know it's not his fault but it was super awkward. It was a big big mistake, but a bad situation can turn into a good one hopefully."
