Rising player
Arthur Fils from France has named
Roger Federer as his inspiration though he draws inspiration from of big three so
Novak Djokovic and
Rafael Nadal as well.
The youngster has been playing really strong tennis at the Rome Open this week making it through the qualifiers and beating an ATP-level champion in Juan Manuel Cerundolo in the first round. It's been a good year for him generally as he rises through the ranks and proves that he belongs to the top of tennis.
When it comes to his tennis heroes, they are all the usual names like Federer, Djokovic, Nadal with the Swiss Ace as the main one. He does look at his contemporaries as well:
“I don't take inspiration from them because they are just one year older than me. I cannot take inspiration from them. They are playing so good. Carlos won a 1000, won in Madrid like two days ago. It was really good level. He played incredible during the week.”
He added:
“Federer when he was playing. Now, of course, Nadal and Djokovic. Yeah, his style and his calm on the court was I think something unbelievable. Maybe his forehand, too. He got so good forehand."
