Denmark’s tennis star
Holger Rune has stated that he would
do whatever he wants in response to a comment from a user on social media.
The 20-year-old’s journey in the singles category in the
Monte-Carlo Masters
came to an end on Friday as he lost to Italy’s Jannik Sinner in the quarterfinal
with a score of 6-4, 6-7, 6-3.
Before that encounter, Rune was also knocked out from the
doubles category of the mega-event as he along with his partner America’s Taylor
Fritz lost to the pair of Germany’s Alexander Zverev and Brazil’s Marcelo Melo
in the quarterfinal in straight sets with a score of 6-2, 7-6.
The current world number seven, later in a post on social
media platform X — previously known as Twitter — expressed satisfaction with
his performance. "3 matches in 38
hours a short but beautiful @ROLEXMCMASTERS. Happy about my level of tennis.
Things to improve still and will start working on this Monday. Enjoy the
weekend,” he wrote.
In response to that, a user posted a comment: "Real
champions don't cry like this. Lesson # 1." While responding to that, Rune
wrote that he would do whatever he felt like doing and also stated that ‘he
never cry’. "Hi. If I want to cry, I cry. If I want to scream, I scream.
That's me. And by the way, I never cry. This post was mainly mentioning that
it's probably the shortest tournament I had in a long time in Europe and still
3 matches. Very efficient,” he wrote.
