Jannik Sinner has been a teenager to watch in the past three seasons, starting the 2019 campaign from outside the top-500 and currently standing on the verge of the top-30!
Recognized for his sheer talent and striking abilities, the young Italian had a chance to practice with the world's leading players even before turning 19, sharing the practice court with Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer at the Australian Open 2020. Jannik claimed three Challenger titles and the ATP Next Gen Finals in 2019 and continued in the same style in 2020, lifting his first ATP crown in Sofia and reaching the first Major quarter-final at Roland Garros.
Nadal had to work hard to beat the young gun, who led in the first and second set before falling 7-6, 6-4, 6-1. The Spaniard asked Sinner to train with him in Adelaide at the beginning of the year ahead of the Australian Open, with the upcoming star sharing the court with the 20-time Major winner and learning a lot from him.
"My idol is Rafael Nadal. I am quite nervous every time I see him. It is the same with Roger Federer; it is always special to meet them," Jannik Sinner said.
