"I'm crazy about his game, about his charisma": Del Potro full of praise for Alcaraz' growing status in tennis

Argentina’s tennis star Juan Martin del Potro has stated
that he is a big fan of the current world number one Carlos Alcaraz’s game.
The 20-year-old is now the talk of the town after his
remarkable win in a five-set thriller against the current world number two and
Serbia’s legendary tennis star Novak Djokovic in the final of Wimbledon last
month with a score of 1–6, 7–6(8–6), 6–1, 3–6, 6–4.
De Potro, while talking to Tennis Channel, stated that he is
‘crazy’ about Alcaraz’s game and also thinks that the young tennis star a
hammer-like forehand as well.
“First, for the tennis fans, would be great to see them [Alcaraz
and Djokovic] fighting very often,” he said. “I think people will get crazy
watching them playing finals, as they did in Wimbledon. At the moment, they are
the two guys playing tennis in another level.
“You have very good players like Daniil Medvedev, Alexander
Zverev, Casper Ruud, many others. But these two players, for me, from my point
of view and how I understand the game, they are even better than the rest, for
now. I will be watching on TV.
“I don't know if someone has the hammer now, but I think
Carlitos Alcaraz. He hit his forehand really strong too. He has also a
potential to hit better in the future years. I'm crazy about his game, about
his charisma.
“I like a lot the way that he moves in the court. And I
think he's making very good things for the sport. After the Big 3 moves out,
the transition is going to be in good hands with Carlitos, with Jannik Sinner
also. These guys has the potential to be at the top for the next years.”
Alcaraz will be defending his crown in the upcoming US Open
which is set to begin in less than seven days’ time.

- WTA has been unfairly ignoring Elena ever since Wimbledon. Arguably biased against her. Same with the most major sponsors whom normally pounce on the Wimbledon Winners for sponsorship. Didn't happen. Her unfair treatment was always in Lena's subconcious; how she was largely ignored after Wimbledon. Her sister helped her a lot during that period. Next came illnesses and minor injury. A lot of time was lost, and physical (mental?) issues were frequent, as she fought through the absurdiy and general nonsense brought-on by her coach/partner. He was a Loser then, he's a Loser still. Although he has lowered his attitude, volume, and non-stop yapping from the box since he wore the organizations out with his non-stop legal letters begging for mercy and ultimately fully reinstated. Rybakina deserves all the accolades others have enjoyed and more for her strength and will to succeed. Hope it continues.mandoist15-09-2026
