Frances Tiafoe is well known as one of the main entertainers on the ATP Tour and it seems that stretches too to his appearance on Netflix Break Point.
Speaking to the ATP, he revealed that he had to warn producers about potential remarks he might make that can't be aired and how he appreciated the fact they wanted him to be himself.
“I probably said some off-the-cuff stuff; everybody probably did. [It was] just me being me. I like to clown around and joke around, but they were pretty good with it. ‘Don’t worry about it’,” Tiafoe told ATPTour.com.
“They just wanted me to be me, so they were never trying to catch me on something. They did a great job. They were there as much and as little as I wanted them to be and I’m happy this opportunity came.
“I was open with them from the beginning. I was like, ‘Look, I’m a jokester. I’m probably going to say some stuff that can’t be on air.’ They were cool with it.
“And you get cool with the guys after a while. They’re with you so much, you get cool with them and then they also start to know and they’re like, ‘Alright, don’t worry about that. I won’t get you there.’ We had some funny car rides at the US Open saying dumb stuff and they knew just to keep it here.”
He also spoke of his excitement to watch it back almost like a kid on Christmas saying he will watch it all in one go.
“I want to see what they did, how often they had them around,” Tiafoe said.
“For sure, I think this is great for the game, so it’s not just really about me. It’s great for the game, moving the game forward. I’m happy I was part of it and some other guys got a chance to be part of it as well.
“I’m going to watch the whole thing right away. I think that has to be done. I want to see how it turns out. I think everybody does, right?”
