Novak Djokovic was dumped out of Indian Wells by Luca Nardi in a shocking loss for the World No.1 4-6, 6-3, 3-6 against the Italian and he has thrown doubt under whether he will play at the
Miami Open which starts March 20 and is the second part of the so called Sunshine Double.
Djokovic hasn't played either since 2019 and made his grand return to Indian Wells only for his Italian hoodoo to continue to not just Jannik Sinner and he admitted afterwards that he needs to take scope over the next day or two and figure out what his next plans are.
The silver lining though for those wanting to see him in Miami is that he realises that he does not play a lot of tournaments and so losing early might mean that Djokovic is mobilised more into action ahead of a busy clay court season.
"Let's see, obviously 10 minutes ago I was on the court, so I'm still hot-headed a bit. I need to take a day or two and then see what I want to do next," he said.
"I do play fewer tournaments, so I'm more selective with my schedule. So of course it's not great feeling when you, you know, drop out very early in the tournament, and especially here, I haven't played five years. I really wanted to do well. But wasn't meant to be. We move on," he added.
